Similar to pranic healing, reiki is also a type of energy healing. The word Reiki has derived from the Japanese words rei, which means universal and ki, meaning life energy. Reiki focuses on the flow of energy around the body. The energy can stagnate in the body with physical or emotional pain. These energy blocks can lead to illnesses. Reiki helps to restore the flow of energy by removing these blocks.
Mikai Usui developed the most current form of Reiki. However, Reiki has been practised for centuries before this method was developed. Reiki practitioners use their hands to channel the universal energy or ki towards specific body parts, where they feel there is an energy block.
Reiki aids in relaxation and accelerates the body’s natural healing ability. It is also known to develop emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. Similar to pranic healing, Reiki is used to help treat people with chronic pain, depression, anxiety, cancer, heart disease, infertility, autism, neurodegenerative disorders, and fatigue.
Reiki can also be used for long-distance energy healing. The practitioner may use crystals or other energy enhancers to send the energy over long distances in this specific case.
